POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Digital Communications develops and executes digital communication plans and initiatives that support the organizational communications strategy, increase brand and program awareness, drive web and social traffic, and elevate Sport Integrity Canada’s presence across all digital spaces. The Manager develops and coordinates digital content across Sport Integrity Canada websites, social media, newsletters, and email outreach, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging, brand standards, and user-experience best practices.
Working closely with the Director, Communications and the Manager, Corporate Communications, the incumbent oversees website management, applies analytics, and monitors digital activity to keep platforms current, functional, and engaging. The Manager also ensures consistent and accurate content, collaborates across departments to provide digital expertise, and supports the effective online representation of Sport Integrity Canada programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Website
- Manage all Sport Integrity Canada websites to enhance user experience, functionality, site performance, and alignment with brand and communication strategies, including pending renewals and constant improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the website aligns with overall business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications team to lead content creation for websites and digital platforms.
- Maintain the relationship with the external website provider and oversee related service delivery.
- Monitor website speed, capacity, and overall performance, optimizing for speed and efficiency.
- Apply SEO and analytics best practices to track traffic and user engagement, using insights to guide optimization.
- Stay current on the latest web technologies, trends, and user experiences best practices.
- Work with IT to ensure functionality, optimization and troubleshoot technical issues, as applicable.
Digital Communications and Social Media
- Develop the quarterly digital newsletter (including design, content curation and building targeted outreach).
- Develop and execute email campaigns to nurture and grow online community.
- Working closely with the Communications Officer, lead social media management, collaborating with departments to plan and maintain content that supports the Sport Integrity Canada brand and program objectives.
- Work with the Communications Officer to implement posts, monitor engagement, and ensure channels remain current and consistent.
- Oversee the creation and curation of visual content, including video, photography, and graphics, ensuring materials are engaging, accessible, and aligned with Sport Integrity Canada brand standards.
Sport Integrity Canada Quality Management System
- Be aware of and knowledgeable about the position’s responsibilities within the Quality Management System.
- Comply with relevant quality system processes and recommend process changes/revisions as appropriate.
- Identify potential risks and help identify and manage risk-mitigation strategies.
- Log stakeholder feedback/comments in the Quality Database for tracking and appropriate follow-up.
General Responsibilities
- Work with the Communications team to ensure digital content supports and complements broader organizational messaging.
- Contribute digital expertise and creative support to communication team projects, campaigns, and daily outputs.
- Other duties assigned by the Director, Communications.
Qualifications and Competencies
- University degree or College diploma in the field of communications, social media management, marketing or equivalent or combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three years of on-the-job experience performing duties at a comparable level of responsibility and complexity in a similar environment.
- Experience in website management: sound knowledge of best practices, trends, SEO.
- Experience with multiple CMS platforms/environments.
- Experience using different analytics platforms to evaluate performance, generate insights, and optimize campaigns and communications strategies.
- Strong understanding of email marketing platforms, such as Mailchimp.
- Experience in social media strategy and implementation.
- Knowledge of design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, CANVA, as well as photography and video production.
- Knowledge of Canadian sport system; experience in a sport or not-for-profit organization considered an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills required.
- Excellent spoken and written French skills required.
