Ottawa – November 25, 2025 – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) is excited to announce that it has changed its name to Sport Integrity Canada. This new name is now in effect and will be fully operationalized across the organization by January 1, 2026.

“This change reflects our evolution over the past couple of years into a broader independent sport integrity agency. It is also consistent with our bold, new, future direction as outlined in our 2025-28 Strategic Plan,” said Dr. Jocelyn Downie, Chair of the Board.

In 2025, we assumed responsibility for developing and implementing a new national-level safe sport program in Canada. Considering this new mandate, we reviewed not just our strategic plan but also our organizational strategy and structure. We wanted to ensure that we were prepared for this new purpose and our role as the sport integrity authority in Canada.

Our new strategic plan clearly focuses on safe, clean, and fair sport. It concentrates on our three primary program areas: safe sport, anti-doping, and competition manipulation, and outlines how we will address emerging threats to, and opportunities for, sport integrity as our organization and scope evolve.

“Given these developments, we believe a change in name to Sport Integrity Canada more accurately describes our new identity and future direction serving the public interest by protecting and promoting integrity in sport,” said Jeremy Luke, CEO and President.

Over the coming weeks, we will update our resources and materials to ensure that by January 1, 2026, we are fully operating under the name Sport Integrity Canada.

All existing CCES contracts, commitments, and operations will continue under Sport Integrity Canada. New contracts, commitments, and operations will be initiated under Sport Integrity Canada. We are committed to ensuring there is no disruption or confusion for our program participants and partners as we implement this name change.

While today we proudly announce our new name, we are even more excited for this spring when we will reveal Sport Integrity Canada’s new brand identity with a public awareness campaign highlighting the critical importance of integrity in sport.

We at Sport Integrity Canada are honoured to lead the way in this work and look forward to sharing more soon.
