CCES Invites Applications for Tenth Year of Risk Management Workshops

(Ottawa, Ontario – March 27, 2017) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) is pleased to invite expressions of interest from national sport organizations (NSOs) and multi-sport organizations (MSOs) who wish to host a Risk Management Workshop in 2017-2018.

Each two-day workshop is part of the Risk Management Project, a decade-long collaboration with the Sport Law & Strategy Group and Brock University, which aims to enhance the effectiveness of decision making among sport leaders using a consistent, sport-specific and integrated risk-management process. The workshop was designed by sport leaders for Canadian sport organizations and aims to provide NSOs and MSOs with the capacity to manage their risks more effectively.

Organizations will be selected to participate in a workshop based on their need, state of readiness, support for True Sport and willingness to consider new approaches. To date, more than 46 NSOs, MSOs and sport clubs across Canada have participated in a workshop.

Please send expressions of interest to Jillian Black at [email protected] no later than April 21, 2017.

Additional information is available on the CCES website: www.cces.ca/risk-management, and a SIRCuit Leadership article published on March 10, 2017: www.sircuit.ca/risk-management-for-sport-leaders.

The CCES is an independent, national, not-for profit organization with a responsibility to administer the Canadian Anti-Doping Program. We recognize that true sport can make a great difference for individuals, communities and our country. The CCES acknowledges funding, in part, from the Government of Canada. We are committed to working collaboratively to activate a values-based and principle-driven sport system; protecting the integrity of sport from the negative forces of doping and other unethical threats; and advocating for sport that is fair, safe and open to everyone.
